Tess hadn’t expected the ferocity in Lilith’s response. She had almost lost her balance from the tremor in the ground, but she had still managed to continue swinging the scythe when the bisento came with such force that it nearly ripped the weapon from her hands. Tess would have been ripped in two herself had she not had her wits about her. She managed to hook the scythe to the upwards travelling weapon and, throwing herself up, grabbed the scythe just below the blade. This allowed Lilith’s strength to drag her upwards and out of harm’s way. As Tess reached shoulder height with the giantess, she planted a foot on her opponent's shoulder and, still using that same momentum, flipped away from her foe.
The soil was softer from Lilith’s previous attack. When she landed, Tess sunk a few feet into the soil. This caused her to lose her footing and slump ungracefully onto the ground. Not wanting to give her opponent an opening, she threw her feet behind her, rolling backwards and standing up in one fluid motion.
Tess searched around for the scythe that she had left on Lilith’s weapon and scowled as she noticed the daft giantess’s movement had sent the weapon flying in the opposite direction. It was currently protruding from the earth. “Merrick’s shadow ability would come in handy about now” She thought to herself. She made a run towards her weapon with the intention of bypassing the giantess.
Success! Her blade managed to intercept the scythe. However, her adversary was clever enough to dodge her sudden counter with grace.
Lilith watched as the girl rose with the weapon, and landed firmly on her shoulder, the scythe flying off behind her. Before she had a chance to react, the smaller fighter kicked her square in the jaw, before flipping away like a ninja (and collapsing rather ungracefully a few feet away).
This whole "getting hit in the face" business was really getting old. That last one even stung a little. Lilith groaned and adjusted her jaw. The attack didn't go entirely as planned, though she did manage to knock the scythe far away from her rival's grasp... which gave her a distinct advantage that she quickly jumped on. Capitalizing on the fact that she was closer, and had a much larger reach, Lilith beat her challenger to the weapon.
"You won't be needing THIS anymore!" She shouted with a smirk, stabbing her Bisento into the ground, before grasping the scythe with two hands and using all of her might to throw the weapon completely and utterly out of sight. She turned back to Tess and smiled, pulling her own weapon free and readying herself once more.
"Whoops. Guess I don't know my own strength."
