As they fell back to Earth with the Lethians in pursuit, the Zartaxian forces knew that the battle would be short-lived and hopeless. Even so, they continued to fight on for weeks before the order to surrender came down. The Lethian Queen and US President accepted the surrender and the remaining Zartaxian forces were taken into custody.
Celebrations erupted across both worlds. A formal ceremony was quickly thrown together to end hostilities and cement a permanent relationship between the two worlds.
Sara and Sophia were chosen to stand on the podium since they were both Earth born and now clearly Lethian. The head of the joint chiefs was the first to approach the podium and smartly returned the hulking Sophia's salute.
